The Real Estate Agents Licensing Board (REALB) is pleased to introduce its newly appointed Board Members, ushering in a new era of leadership and expertise to steer the organization towards its vision.
The announcement was made by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Co-operatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Communications Hon. Manoa Kamikamica, signaling a strategic move towards a dynamic future for the real estate industry.
The newly appointed board members are set to apply their diverse skills and experience, to strengthen REALB’s strategic direction and service delivery.
Leading the Board as Chairperson is Dr Ilimotama Cawi, and assisting him as Deputy Chairperson is Mrs Caroline Waqabaca. Joining the esteemed leadership team are Mr King Anwar Hussain and Mrs Unise Druavesi
Dr. Ilimotama Cawi is a forensic accountant by profession and an academic, currently serving as a lecturer at the University of the South Pacific. He also holds positions as a Board Member for Fijian Holdings Limited and Pacific Cement Limited.
Mrs Waqabaca is an economist by profession and currently heads the Financial System Development team at the Reserve Bank of Fiji, focused on financial inclusion, payment systems and consumer protection. She has been a valued member of the Board since 2019 bringing her extensive experience as an economist and central banker to drive growth and development in the real estate sector.
Mr King Anwar Hussain is a successful businessman, land developer and the CEO of Jet Set Land and Property Developer in Nadi. Mr. Hussain’s extensive experience in land development includes participation in prominent projects that have significantly contributed to Fiji’s economic development.
These accomplished individuals officially assumed their new roles on Monday, August 21, 2023, marking the commencement of their three-year term.
Their collective vision and dedication are expected to steer REALB towards fostering a thriving real estate sector, that adheres to high standards of professionalism and integrity.
The Hon. Kamikamica acknowledges the contribution of outgoing board members who have played a pivotal role in shaping the organization and laying the groundwork for future leadership.
